Many foreign men travel to the Philippines with much expectation.

A few months or years later and they find themselves settling in the country for good with their Filipina wives. It leaves the rest of the world wondering why many Western men end up making the same decision.

Well, you can’t blame them.

First of all, foreigners don’t find it hard to fall in love with a Filipina. With beauty so pure and love so innocent, who would not want them as a life partner?

The Philippines also boasts of every wonder one could imagine. A paradise on earth, as many would describe. And the people — the friendliest they could ever meet.

The country just has all the good and right things for a Western man to settle in. And they’re more than convincing to make them leave their US life behind.

Low Cost of Living

It does not cost much for an average earner in the US to live comfortably in the Philippines. The living costs in the Philippines are much lower than in the West. Rent is 80% cheaper while other expenses are more than 50% lower.

Buying land is also much cheaper and easier when marrying a Filipina. It makes the country ideal for retirement.

The affordable but dependable education system also encourages married couples to raise their children in the country. It’s more economical without sacrificing the quality of learning.

And they can even take advantage of the country’s fast-growing economy by putting up their own business.

There’s the reason why many Filipino-American couples ultimately choose to settle down in the Philippines. They enjoy low living expenses while also earning steadily. By doing so, they can even afford to take several vacation trips around or outside the Philippines.

Freedom

This sits particularly well with African Americans who marry Filipinas.

It’s no secret that African Americans face discrimination in the US. They sometimes receive heavier criminal offenses. But in the Philippines, they’re freed from the racial judicial system of the West.

They have fewer laws to abide by and more access to freedom. And with a country as peaceful as the Philippines, they can live life to its fullest.

On top of all of this, the country already hosts many expats who chase the same freedom and peace. Getting homesick wouldn’t be much of a problem.

Warm Neighborhood

Filipinos love entertaining guests and welcoming people into their homes and neighborhoods. They especially love welcoming foreigners. And it’s not hard to fit in these neighborhoods because Filipinos speak good English.

When a foreign man marries a Filipina, he also somehow marries the whole family or town. So he can expect warm smiles and waves from neighbors once he settles down in the Philippines.

They also love huge gatherings such as birthday parties and fiestas. There will be music and great food wherein the whole neighborhood will feast upon. They will share laughs and stories, and dance and sing all night long.

Some American men initially plan to settle in the US after marriage. But after experiencing the Filipino warmth and hospitality, they ultimately come back to enjoy it for the rest of their life.

Close to Nature

Many foreign men travel and stay in the Philippines for good because it has all the adventures they’re after.

Beaches, mountains, underground rivers, caves — you name it. The country never runs out of beautiful places to be visited and adrenaline adventures to try. The country also has a warm, tropical climate which most foreigners just love.

Living in the Philippines with their wife is more stress-free, thanks to the country’s calming beauty. They can wake up every morning next to the pristine white beaches, or the soft chirping of birds or crowing of roosters.

So, like loving a Filipina, foreigners don’t find it hard to love the Philippines, which they call their new home.
